Richard "R.J."Smith was born on July 11, 1939 and passed away on March 21, 2017. R.J. is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Smith; parents: Gust and Clara Smith; brother, Walter Joe Smith; sisters: Eleanor Rose Smith and Delores Celia Palo. R.J. is survived by his children: Joann Johnson, Debra Brown, Ricky Smith, Rosemary Askins; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. A visitation will be held for R.J. on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas. Funeral Service will be on Friday March 24, 2017 at 1:00PMat New Hope Funeral Home with interment to follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens.
