Richard B. Ruff

RUFF, Richard B. (Dick) of Mesquite, born January 17, 1918, passed away June 20, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys Bradley Ruff of Mesquite; sons, Michael Ruff & wife Jan, Walter Ruff & wife Carla, & daughter, Leora White. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shawn Ruff & wife Katy, Stefan Ruff & wife Chantal, Christa Kent & husband Chris, Annie White, Heather Ruff, Aaron Ruff, Brandon Ruff, & Dana White; great grandchildren, Samantha Ruff, Ryan Ruff & Molly Ruff. Richard served in WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps as a bombardier aboard a B-24 in the European Theater. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, a European (African/Middle Eastern (EAME) Campaign Medal, along with five Bronze Service Stars. He retired as a union electrician in 1980. Services for Richard will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday June 23, 2004 at the DFW National Cemetery, with Rev. Steven Blaum, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you send donations to the SPCA, Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Mesquite, or the charity of your choice. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
