Reba Nell Gough was born April 21, 1941 in Honey Grove, Texas and passed away from this life January 1, 2007.She is proceeded in death by her mother, Ella Reba Parham; her father, Joe Ashley Parham; sister, Melba Jo White; infant sister, Margie Louise Parham; brother, Jerry Dean Parham; and brother William John Parham.She is survived by her son, Greg Gough and wife, Gwen Gough; daughter, Stacie Bueno, 2 grandchildren, Ashley and Abbey Gough; 3 brothers, Marvin Parham, Venoy Parham and Arnold Parham, and a great number of loving family and friends. She was baptized February 28, 1954 at Hawn Freeway church of Christ.At the age of 16, Reba began working at Titches Department Store.She graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1959 at the age of 18.She married Carl Gough in 1960 at Hawn Freeway, where she later was a Bible Class teacher when their children were small.She worked at Titches up until before their first child, Greg, was born.She and Greg joined Carl in Fort Ord, California, where Carl had been transfered by the Army.After a year, they returned to Dallas, Texas.It was after that, in 1964, that their daughter, Stacie was born. In 1969, Reba began working at the 807th Hospital Center, an Army Reserve Unit in Mesquite, where she became a Civil Service employee as a Clerk Typist.Reba joined the Army Reserves in 1975, as a Specialist Four.In 1993, after 24 years with the Civil Service, she retired from her position as Military Personnel Management Specialist, however, she continued as an Army Reservist until 2003.She retired with 27 years of service, having achieved the grade of Chief Warrant Officer 4.During her career, she was honored with several recognition awards, The Army Commendation Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Army Service Ribbon, 2 Army Achievement Medals, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, and the Commander's Special Award for Service to Soldier Medics, which was retired with Chief Gough and noted as the last recipient; and of most importance, The Legion of Merit Medal. Reba and daughter, Stacie, relocated from Garland to Mesquite in 1981, and attended White Rock church of Christ until 1995, when they moved their membership to Mesquite church of Christ.Reba's son, Greg and wife, Gwen were married in 1992, and have given her 2 granddaughter's, Ashley 9 and Abbey 4.Reba was known as Nana to them.She was a big part of their life and they will miss her dearly. Reba's favorite Bible verse was the Twenty-Third Psalm, "The Lord Is My Shepherd".She had said this was a great comfort to her since she had battled several cancers in the last 10 years.Reba always had a positive attitude about her cancer and always believed God was going to get her through each time the cancer recurred.She was a person who was always on the go and would go the extra mile for anyone, whether she felt good or not.She would not let her health stand in the way of attending worship service and was a great inspiration to alot of people and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
