Ray Surrena was born on June 21, 1930 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 12, 2019. Ray journeyed through this life as a son, brother, husband, father, “PapPap,” uncle and friend. He grew up in Pennsylvania and later owned several businesses before relocating to Texas where he met and married Sue in 1981. Together, they enjoyed 38 years of marriage and a multi-generational growth between families. Ray was a gifted guitar player with a sweet voice. He designed and created several of his own instruments. He will be remembered for his faith in the Lord and love of his family. “PapPap” will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Otis Paul Surrena; mother, Bessie Pearl Collingwood-Surrena; sisters, Margaret Jewel and infant sister, Ruby Surrena; brothers, Oatis Jr., Russell, Francis, Don and Jack Surrena; one daughter-in-law; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
