Ray W. Cooper of Mesquite Texas , was born on April 3, 1930 and passed away Thursday March 22, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents France and Maggie Cooper, his brothers Loyd, Gary and Fred, as well as his sisters Lenora and Dixie . Ray is survived by his wife Fran, his son Bro and his daughter Brenda. Ray is also survived by his surviving siblings Anna Bell, Jimmy, Mary and Darline. Ray and Fran have two grand children Braden and Shawn, as well as numerous great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Greenville Texas , Ray served four years in the US Army and served his country in the Korean War. Ray and Fran married in 1956 and lived in Mesquite for many years, moving later to their home on Cedar Creek Lake to retire. Ray enjoyed working as a gifted carpenter all of his life, even while he was at the nursing home. He coached little league football, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing the French Harp when he wasn't aggravating his lovely wife. Visitation is Tuesday March 28, 2012 6-8 pm at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale (just outside of Mesquite), 500 U.S. East Highway 80, Sunnyvale, TX., 75182; 972/226-2111. Graveside service is Wednesday March 27, 2012 at 11:30am at the DFW National Cemetery . There will be no funeral procession from the funeral home. Those attending the internment are asked to be at the DFW National Cemetery by 11 a.m. Lane C. (In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made in memory of Ray W.
