Raul Rojas was born February 24, 1929, and passed away June 11, 2017.He was third youngest of nine brothers and sisters, and the last surviving sibling.At 17, Raul had to drop out of school to help support his mother after his father's passing.While serving in the Navy Reserves, Raul accepted a position with the VA Hospital Central Dental Lab where he rose to the rank of Assistant Dental Lab Chief, before retiring after 37 years in June 1990. Raul is survived by his wife Gladys Rojas; children Ronald, Larry, Cindi, and Raul Jr.; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.He was active in his church for over 50 years serving as a deacon and translator for numerous mission trips to Mexico.Also, one of the highlights of his life, was serving as a translator for Spanish-speaking players and coaches at the quarter finals of the 1994 World Cup held at the Cotton Bowl. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 14th from 5-7 p.m. and at Second Baptist Church on Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m.Graveside services will be at Grove Hill Funeral Home with a reception following at Second Baptist Church in East Dallas.
