Ranelle Herring Foster was the first child of Winfield Samuel and Bessie Lorene Herring, born May 2, 1933 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. She left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on April 25, 2017, having shared her loving spirit and happy demeanor with everyone she encountered throughout her life’s journey. She loved God, her family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting, laughing, chocolate, crossword puzzles and her favorite color was lavender. Ranelle was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Kaufman, Texas. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher, taught Vacation Bible School and worked in the bus ministry for many years. Ranelle was married for over 63 years to the love of her life, H.W. “Rex” Foster. Their love and devotion to each other was apparent to everyone who observed them sitting and holding hands. Their four children Harold “Weldon” Foster (June), Sam Foster (Debra), Anna Saucier (Howard), and Lisa Lennon (Mark) will treasure their mother’s loving ways. Anna said it best, “She really was the best mother in the world.” Her 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren enjoyed her love and will remember being welcomed with a hug and a cookie jar that was never empty. Her daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws will tell you they consider her “Mom” and not mother-in-law. Ranelle is also survived by her sisters Winene Nimmo and Sharron Lohkamp, and brother, Dennis Herring. She has joined her father, mother, brother and other dear family and friends in Heaven. For 19 years, Ranelle worked as a legal secretary for Harold Abramson who was a bankruptcy attorney and then a federal bankruptcy judge. She was known for greeting everyone with her contagious smile and she made this world a brighter place. Her memory is a blessing for all of us who loved her, and if you knew her you couldn’t help but love her.
