Ramoncito Basanes Eraso 1955-2016 Ramoncito "Cito" B. Eraso, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Mariano, mother Dolores, sister Maria Teresa, and son Angelo Padilla Eraso. Cito is survived by his wife of 38 years Lourdes, son Lawrence, daughter Marie Antonette and future Son-in-Law John Richard. He is also survived by his sisters Lydia, Guadalupe (husband Lucio), Dahlia, and Marianne; brothers Romeo (wife Dolores), Ruben (wife Justina), Rommel (wife Ellen), and Reynaldo (wife Eleanor); nieces Abigail, Christina, Debbie, Donna, Dorina, Jo Marie, Julia, Kathleen, Kathreen, Rhona, and Rowena; and nephews Bobby, Daniel, Joseph, Joshua, Keanuu, Keith, Mark, and Ramil. He also leaves behind numerous friends from Texas, California, Maryland, New Jersey, and Philippines to name a few. Cito enlisted in the US Army in 1975 where he completed his basic training at Ft. Ord in Monterey, CA.After serving in California and Germany, he was honorably discharged in 1978 due to health reasons. He met his wife Lourdes "Lou" in Germany and they were married on June 27th, 1977.Cito and Lou moved to Hawaii where they gave birth to Lawrence. Months later, Cito and Lou moved to Dallas, Texas where he joined his brother Rommel. There, they gave birth to a daughter named Marie Antonette. Cito was an employee of the US Postal Service for 20 years before retiring in 2002. Cito is an avid supporter of the National Kidney Foundation.He was an athlete for Team Texas at the Transplant Games of America where he played men's singles and doubles tennis, mixed doubles, and table tennis where many medals were won. May 11, 2016 would have been his 10 year kidney transplant anniversary. His daughter, Marie, was his kidney donor. Tennis was Cito's ultimate passion and favorite hobby. He played tennis every Saturday with his buddies at St. Francis Park in Dallas.He spent his free time shopping online for new tennis gear, especially shoes. Cito was a member of Larap Philippine Iron Mines Association (LAPIMA), Larap Tennis Association, and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).Cito loved making people laugh. He always knew how to put a smile on anyone's face. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2nd and Thursday, March 3rd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4th at 11:30am at St. Pius X Church in Dallas, Texas where Cito and Lou have been parishioners for 33 years. The burial will take place following the funeral mass at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
