Rajan Mepuram Philip was born on February 27, 1948, to the late M.P. Philip and the late Mary Philip in Maramon, Kerala (India). Rajan was blessed to be born into a strong Christian family with eight siblings, including five sisters and three brothers. Rajan was the fourth child and the first son in the Mepuram family. He obtained his Bachelors (BCOM) in India and Masters in Computer Science in the United States. Rajan and Mary (Lillykutty) were married in 1974. In the same year, they moved to New York. Rajan was a Systems Analyst (Computer Programmer) before he retired in 2004. Rajan was one of the founding members of the Mar Thoma Church of Dallas, Carrollton. He served on the Sunnyvale Library Board, was Trustee of the Kerala Association, and was actively involved in the church choir. He was also an executive committee member of the Mar Thoma Church of Dallas, Carrolton, involved in various charities and events, and served the community as a notary public. Rajan was the ‘go-to’ man for everything amongst all who knew him. Whenever anyone needed help, he would willingly oblige. Rajan was a hardworking individual, a devoted husband, a caring father, a doting grandfather, and a loving brother and uncle. His faith in God led him to regularly attend church, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Rajan is survived by his wife, Lillykutty; his children, Libby and Shaji John, Siby and Justin Samuel, and Tiby and Anand Paul, grandchildren Shawn Rajan and Lilly Grace Paul, and his nephew Jinu Varughese. He is also survived by the following family members: Marykutty Easow (sister), Annamma Mathew (sister), Sarah Paratholil (sister), Abraham Mepurath (brother), Sosamma Thomas (sister), Soma Philip (wife of late brother, Sunny), Kumari Sam (sister), Bai Philip (brother), as well as numerous relatives and friends. It is an understatement to say that he will be missed.
