Phillip Douglas Martin

Born June 16, 1932 he grew up in Oak Cliff Texas Died March 21, 2007 in Dallas Texas Preceded in death by his wife Earline Martin, and son Paul Douglas Martin. Survived by daughters, Deborah Lewis and Laura Lee McDowra And their spouses, Sonny Lewis and Steve McDowra. 5 grandchildren : Darryl Lewis, Trulee Montgomery, Aaron McDowra, Paul Lewis, and Mallory McDowra. 2 Great grandchildren : Collin and Conner Montgomery. Brother Bert Murray. As a United States Marine, he served in the Asiatic Pacific from March 1951 to February 1952. He was a Machine Gun Unit leader and held the rank of Corporal as he fought against enemy forces in south and central Korea from April 1951 to January 1952. He met a little freckled face red headed girl when he was 15 and she was only 13 and upon his return from Korea in 1952, they married and remained husband and wife for 54 years until her death in August of 2006. He couldn't bear to stay here without his bride so he joined her only 7 months after she left us. May they rejoice in each others' arms for all eternity.
