PIRKEY, Patsy Jo Nash, 71, of Mesquite, died quietly at home on Friday, September 19, from complications of Parkinson's Disease. She was born February 11, 1932, in El Dorado, Arkansas to Stanley & Altha Dean Nash.She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1950 and received her bachelor's degree from Texas State College for Women in Denton (TWU) in 1953.She met and married David G. Pirkey while teaching school in Gladewater, TX.They had two children and were married forty years.Patsy taught Speech and English at schools in both Texas and California.Most of her teaching career was spent at Bowman, Jr. High and Williams High School in Plano.Patsy and David lived in Plano for many years before his death in 1995, after which she moved to Mesquite. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband and her father. She is survived by her mother, Altha Dean Nash of El Dorado, Arkansas, her daughter, Leslie P. Davis & husband, Will B. Davis of Mesquite; son, David G. Pirkey, Jr. & wife, Vicki N. Pirkey of Kingwood, TX.; three granddaughters, Jennifer Pirkey of Kingwood, TX., Selket Davis & Aeriel Davis of Mesquite, TX. Patsy gave her life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of her church where ever she lived, most recently First Presbyterian Church in Mesquite, TX. Visitation will be at New Hope Funeral Home Monday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Services will be 10:30AM Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at New Hope Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Sheppard officiating. Interment to follow at 3:00 pm at Dalby Springs Cemetery, Dalby Springs, TX.
