Patricia C. Williams

Pat was born in Jacksonville, Texas.She grew up in Henderson, Texas where she played on the oil fields with her close knit family and friends.At Gaston high school she was a drum major, named Most Beautiful and was the salutatorian of her 1959 graduating class. She then attended Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore, Texas where she was a Rangerette, and named Ranger Beauty.Pat met her husband, Allen Williams, while attending Kilgore. After starting her family and moving to San Angelo, Texas, Pat continued her college education at Angelo State University.She earned her Bachelor of Science in 1978 and graduated with honors.She then maintained a 4.0 average while she worked, raised children and earned 2 Masters degrees. Pat's lifelong career has been in education.She taught kindergarten and gifted programs at Grape Creek elementary in San Angelo, Texas.It was there she discovered her love of school counseling.She retired from full time counseling in 1999.She became a part time counselor for the Millsap ISD near her home in Graford, Texas.After moving to Denton, Texas to be closer to her family, she worked again as a part time counselor for the Aubrey ISD.A few weeks before her death, Pat was coaxed out of retirement and was named the Principal of Aubrey Elementary. She was loved and well respected by her co-workers and was often asked to write curriculum and special programs for the districts in which she worked. Pat achieved her goals of caring for others and being an exceptional grandparent.Her counseling experience extended far beyond her work in school.She was a sounding board and guide to her family and so many dear friends.Her happiest moments were casual gatherings with family and friends surrounded by laughter and pets near her side. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Williams, her parents, Gladys and Lavis Chance, and her brothers, Jack and Ray Chance. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Jeff Jannasch; son and daughter-in law Chance and Jen Williams; four grandchildren Jack(7) and Jadyn(5) Jannasch; McKenzie(5) and Mia(4 months)Williams; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and George Schrader; nieces Laurie Meyer, Suzanne Reed, Cheryl Zidell, and Lora Ewing; nephews Steve Ewing, Chuck Willingham, Michael Zidell, Eldon Reed; and many other wonderful friends and relatives. An informal Memorial service will be planned at a later date.Pat held a special place in her heart for animals.In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Humane Society.
