Patricia "Pat" Asay Lawbaugh

August 20, 1942 — March 2, 2013

Patricia Ann Asay Lawbaugh, 70, departed this life on March 2, 2013, at her home in Mesquite, Texas surrounded by her family, after a lengthy and courageous battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Pat was born on August 20, 1942 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Wallace and Juanita Asay, Sr.She graduated from Little Rock Central High School and upon graduation worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.After relocating to Mesquite, Texas in 1971 she devoted her time to being a homemaker and mother.She was active in her church Casa View Baptist Church in Dallas Texas.She spent many hours rocking and taking care of babies and children in the nursery until she was no longer able to do so due to her illness.After her children got older Pat went back to work for Mesquite ISD and worked for there until she retired due to the ALS. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Charles Chuck L. Lawbaugh.Her daughters, Kerri Ann Elliott and husband Jeff, and Kristi Lynn Foster and her husband Jeff. Grandchildren, Tyler Foster, Madilynn Foster, Zachary Foster, Joel Elliott, and Kara Elliott.She is also survived by her parents Wallace and Juanita Asay, Sr., brother Wally Asay and wife Mary, sisters Susan Burris and husband Gary and Debbie Satterfield and husband Randy. Pat was a lifelong Christian that loved her Lord, church and family.She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, daughter, sister and friend. The family would like to thank the staff of Vitas Hospice and AccentCare for their loving care. Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at 3:00PM, Casa View Baptist Church, 130 E. I-30, Garland, TX.Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5th from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, TX. Family will also recieve friends on Friday, March 8th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR. Graveside service on Saturday, March 9th 2:00PM at Pinecrest Memorial, 7401 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR.
