Oswald Chung

April 28, 1928 — April 25, 2016

Mr. Oswald T. Chung, a.k.a. Chiney Man, was born to the parents of Matilda Dachas and Charley Chung on April 28, 1928 in Ennis St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies. Mr. Chung attended the Greatful Hill Primary School. On Monday, April 25, 2016, Mr. Chung was called home to be with the Lord. Mr. Chung was a farmer. He married Ms. Mavis T. The union produced three children, two boys and a girl. Mr. Chung migrated to the U.S.A. to work on the Pilican Lake Sugar Plantation in Florida. There, he worked as a chef. During that time he would travel to Jamaica to see his family as often as he could. After twenty-five years of service, he retired. He stayed in Florida for a while, then moved to Texas to live with son and wife Chris and Beverly and their family. Mr. Chung loves to sing. He was preceded in death by his parents and two of his children. He leaves to cherish his memories his only son Cris, wife Beverly and their family; one brother Harry Johnson and his family in England; three sisters Catheline, Mavis and Nomie in Jamaica; six grandchildren Richard, Cleon, Kelda, Michale, Troy, and Carlos; and two great grandchildren, Kamarie and Eaton; the Careys, the Browns, and the Sterling families and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
