Beltline Rd., Sunnyvale, TX. 75182 MY PERSONAL TESTIMONY (Oscar Stroehmer) My name is Oscar Stroehmer and I live in Mesquite, TX. U.S.A. I grew up not going to church because we farmed, had a dairy and a grocery store. So Sunday was just another workday for us. I remember missionaries coming to our school once or twice a year. They told us about Jesus and what he did on the cross because he loved us so much. My father always told us to finish school, get a job, get married and raise a family. So, this is what I did. But, there was something lacking in my life. Even though I had a job, a wife and a family, I still had a void in my life. May wife told me what I needed to do was join a church, so we started going to a small church near our home. The first Sunday the preacher preached on Genesis 6:2 (Gods spirit will not always strive with man). This really touched my heart. Every Sunday after that I knew I was lost and needed to be saved. Each time the devil would tell me to do it latternot today. After a month or two, after the service, the pastor asked if he could come by my house and talk to me and I said OK . The next Sunday night he came by and explained the Plan of Salvation to me in a way a child could understand. The he asked if I wanted to be saved and I said yes . Then I got on my knees and ask Jesus to forgive my sins, come into my heart, and be my Lord and Savior and He did just that! Six or seven months later my wife got saved. She told the preacher that she had seen such a change in me that she wanted what I had received. Since then there have been many storms in my life and Jesus has brought me through them. Today, Im not what I ought to be but, Thank God, Im not what I used to be.
