Opal Effie Teeter

Opal E Teeter was born to Alvin and Effie Maxwell on June 1, 1912 in Kiel,Oklahoma, and died on May 8, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas,Texas. Her parents made the Oklahoma Land Rush establishing a homestead near Kiel, Oklahoma. She was married to Raymond Teeter on Dec 15, 1945. Opal was preceeded in death by her parents, Alvin and ffie, by her husband, Raymond and five sisters and four brothers. She is survived by a son, Bruce of Morrill, Kansas and a daughter, Karen Pfeifer of Mesquite,Texas. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Opal was a member of Sheridan Lake Bible Church, Sheridan Lake Colorado. She worked with her husband on the farm in Colorado for 37 years before retiring to Garden City, Kansas. Opal was a 4-H leader for 10 years teaching sewing and knitting. She enjoyed sewing, oil painting, ceramics, gardening, cooking, quilting and embroidering and various crafts.
