Ona "Kay" Sons, 79, passed away on January 29, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on December 3, 1945, in Dallas, where she spent her life devoted to her faith and family.
Kay was a woman of unwavering faith who walked with God every day of her life. Her spirituality was the foundation of her strength, guiding her through life's challenges with resilience and grace. She held fast to her beliefs and found comfort in His presence, making God her everything.
She was a loving and caring woman, dedicated to her family and friends with an unshakable loyalty. Kay never gave up on anyone or anything, always standing firm in her convictions while embracing life with humor and warmth. Her opinionated nature was matched by a deep compassion that made her an inspiration to all who knew her.
Kay found joy in worshiping God and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, two passions that brought light into her life and those around her. Whether she was offering words of encouragement or celebrating a touchdown, she did so with enthusiasm and heart.
She is survived by her son Nick Everett and his wife Ann; daughter Lisa Hyter; son-in-law Mike Fleming; daughter-in-law Mary Babcock; grandchildren Casey Everett, Ginger Schiavone and her husband Joe, Heather Ross, Kaylan Fleming, April Ross, Brody Everett, and Kristen Ross; as well as great-grandchildren Jazmine Everett, Jeremiah Everett, Jadize Wells, Austyn Madison, Eric Madison, and Harper Schiavone.
Kay was preceded in death by her beloved parents Eula Mae and Joseph "JC" Mackey; daughters Ginger Everett and Teri Felts-Fleming; and grandsons Kristopher Everett and Joshua Felts.
Her legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who were blessed to have had her in their lives.
