Norma Jean Smith Keeton went home to be with her Lord Savior and loved ones who went before her on January 25,2010. She was born in Brownwood Texas, May 1,1936 to Marvin Henry and Hannah Elizabeth Northcut Smith. She had a short fight with Cancer. She was a Christian and a member of mission church of First Baptist Church of Dallas Texas. Norma graduated from Brownwood High School in 1954. She went to Barber School in Dallas Texas and was a Barber until her death for 40 plus years in Dallas. Norma was blessed in life with 4 special children. Three were born with Cystic Fibrosis and preceded her in death as adults. Preceding her were Lanny Craig Keeton 1992, a grandson David Taylor in 1997. Regina Lynn Taylor in 1997, and her eldest daughter, Melanie Jane Keeton May 2009. Also grandparents. Henry and Margaret Flanagan Smith. Andrew and Nancy Northcut. Surviving her is her daughter, Lisa Crump and Husband Timothy Crump of Rowlett, Texas. A son-in-law Vernon Vieland of Terrell Texas. Her only sibling, Dana and Milton Perry of Brownwood, Texas. Her granddaughters, Faith Nisbett of Dallas, Texas, Amber and Dusty Hale, Tonya Crump and Fiance Austen Wagner of Garland Texas, Hope Crump of Rowlett, Texas, Her great-grand children, Katelin Nisbett, Billy Jonny, Serenity Hale and Delaney Crump. One niece, Melissa Leeigh Perry, and two nephews, Shane R. Wood of Brownwood, Texas and Micah H. Perry of Austin, Texas Her funeral is under the direction of New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00PM Thursday January 28, 2010 at the New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy 80 and Exit Collins Road, Sunnyvale, TX., with the Rev. Rodger Hudgens, officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Burial will be next to her Daughter Melanie at Camp Ground Cemetery in Poetry, Texas. Other than her barber chair humor, which she was known for, Norma Jean took her kids and sister to many Singing schools all over the Dallas and Ft. Worth area in their young life. She sang in a Quartet in Brownwood during her high school years and did singings currently with her friends and extended family at a church and Paula Sue's restaurant. Her life was filled with music and she played the piano by ear. She attended every quartet singing in the Dallas area. Music was the flow of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cystric Fibrosis foundation in her memory or the American Cancer Society.
