Norma Belzer

Norma Linda Mercado Belzer was born on December 1, 1954 in San Marcos, Texas and departed this life on December 22, 2024 in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 70.

Norma is survived by her husband of 22 years, Dayle Belzer; son, Erik Myers and wife Alison; daughter, Michelle MacDonnell and husband Andrew.

She was loved by her siblings, Roger Mercado, Cipriano Mercado, Debra Mercado, AlmaPope and husband David; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews; beloved grandson, Joshua Collazo; and granddaughters, Evelyn and Olivia MacDonnell.

Norma was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ambrocio and Andrea Rodriguez; mother, Lydia Rodriguez Mercado; father, Cipriano (Roger) Mercado; sister, Eva Mari Mercado Edwards; and granddaughter, Isla Ruth MacDonell.

Norma loved butterflies, gardening, collecting antiques, bells, and miniature spoons. A true caretaker by nature, she loved caring for her family and was a licensed caretaker later in life.

Norma had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. Her laughter filled a spirit with absolute joy. Her faith was unshakeable. Even up until her last breath, prayers and worship music remained a regular part of her day. And now, her faith has become sight.
