Alene was born on April 29, 1940 in Bonham, TX and passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023 at her home in Garland, TX, surrounded by her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Jack, for over 55 years.
Alene met Jack by chance in 1956 after Jack gave a ride to a hitchhiker in Dallas and his girlfriend happened to be best friends with Alene. Alene and Jack were introduced, fell in love, and later married in May of that year in Dallas, TX and the rest is history. Together they raised 5 children. And helped to raise 10 grandchildren, and even got to love on several great grandchildren.
Most people knew Alene as "Mom or Mamaw" and she was "Mom and Mamaw" to many. She was also a beloved sister and friend. Her door was always open and she never met a stranger. She was kind, nurturing, patient, a caretaker, giving, faithful, brave, and funny. Everything that you would want a Mom and Mamaw to be.
Mamaw was instrumental in the lives of her children and grandchildren and loved on them endlessly. She was always there for them, to support them, and cheer them on. She was always ready to listen and to help and give big hugs.
She had such a love for animals and loved many over the years. She loved to cook and to bake for her family and friends and her Zucchini bread was a favorite. She also loved to crochet.
She was loved and will be greatly missed.
