HAMILTON, Mildred (Millie) Kivlehen Hamilton, born August 10, 1925, to Bess and James Kivlehen, passed from this life at the age of 88 on August 18, 2013. Millie grew up in Pampa and Miami, Texas where she graduated Miami High as drum major and head cheerleader before attending West Texas State at Canyon. At Childress Air Force base in 1944 she met the love of her life and future husband of 65 years, Lt. Col. Bill Hamilton of Commerce, Texas. They raised their three children in Mesquite, Dallas, and Sunnyvale, also taking a five year ranching stint in Colorado. Once back in Texas, Millie worked in the teacher preparation program for Southern Methodist University for over 20 years. Motherhood was always her first love, however, and she delighted in her six grandchildren all her days. We will all miss herhappy smile and magnetic personality. She was always the favorite of every cargegiver as well, and we thank them. Millie is preceded in death by her brothers Dan and Keith Kivlehen and her husband Bill, who passed away in 2009. She is survived by her brother, Don Kivlehen and nephew Michael, of San Jose, Calif. She also leaves her three children, Frederick Hamilton & wife Esther, Marla Hamilton Webster McGowan & husband, Gary, Mark Hamilton & wife Betsy, and 6 grandchildren, Blake Webster & wife Jenny, Brooke Webster Hudson & husband Shane, Matthew Hamilton & wife Madeline, Rebecca Webster Hand & husband Sam, Scott Hamilton & wife Daniele, and David Hamilton & wife Liz, along with 7 great grandchildren: William, Georgia, Mary Sterling and Audrey Webster, Luke and Jack Hudson, and Charlotte Hand. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 24th, 2013 at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, Texas, preceded by family and friend visitation at 1:00 PM.
