Michael Larry Stuart

Dr. Michael Stuart went home to meet his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Stuart, born Feb. 28, 1952, is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy Stuart of Mesquite, his daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Clete Mackey of Frisco, and Maryanne and Chris Miles of Fate, plus six grandchildren, Grace, Abbie, Anna, Aaron, Clay and Audrey; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Hal & Cindy Stuart of Dallas, and Craig & Traci Stuart of Saltillo; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Preston Stuart and mother, Jean Stuart, both of Saltillo, Texas. Dr. Stuart, born in Dallas, was a cherished dentist in Mesquite and Sunnyvale for nearly 30 years. He served faithfully in organized dentistry for most of his career and held prestigious positions such as TDA President, TAGD President and he was nominated for Dentist of the Year twice by his peers, which is a rare and high recognition of his exemplary service both in his dental practice and in the community. Dr. Stuart also served faithfully and enthusiastically as minister of music in several local churches. His passion was serving others and he leaves a legacy of lives touched by all who knew him. He passed away peacefully after a brave fight against melanoma. (He would encourage everyone to use sunscreen and test early and regularly to avoid skin cancer!) The family will receive friends in the Chapel at New Hope Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at 12 p.m. at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church.3018 N.
