Michael Joseph Gregory Mike was born on July 20,1958 in Moorhead, Minnesota. He went to be with his lord on September 28, 2018. Growing up in a small town in North Dakota he developed a passion for cuisine in High School.He loved surprising his family with palatable dishes and grilled foods! Mike also loved cars.At the very young age of six, he could name the year, make and model of the passing vehicles.Through the years, he and his father loved to window shop for vehicles.Mike’s love of the outdoors lead to an interest in gardening.He was always planning new gardens for his yard. He was raised in New Town, ND.He graduated from New Town High School in 1976 and went on to attend North Dakota State College of Science in Wapeton, ND to graduate with an associate degree in Culinary Arts.After graduation, he started working at the Orion Room at the IDS Tower and Crystal Court in Minneapolis, MNas a Salad Chef.The Salad station was next to the Pastry station, which Mike loved as he could sample the chocolate pastries from the Pastry Chef!He worked himself up to become an Executive Chef. Chef Gregory moved to Houston, TX to work as an Executive Chef for the Northgate Country Club in 1982.Then in 1986, with his acquired skills as an Executive Chef, the Club Development Interest brought him to Dallas to work for the Park City Club as Executive Chef.He was awarded Certified Executive Chef from the from the American Culinary Federation in 2002. He proudly served as Executive Chef at Park City Club for thirty years.During that time, Mike had helped establish the Clubs reputation as one of the finest dining clubs in the nation.He was proud of his long tenure at Park City Club and the enduring relationships he made with the family members and fellow employees. He was named the 2012 Chef of the Year for the Dallas Chapter by the Texas Chefs Association and the American Culinary Federation. Michael was a food judge at the Dallas State Fair for many years.He loved to judge casseroles as his mom love to make them.He served on the board of Remington College, Culinary School of Dallas.Michael hired numerous internist from the Art Institute of Dallas, Les Cordon Bleu, Elcentro College. Chef Gregory served on the board of the Chains as Vice Conseiller Cullinaire. Mike was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2004.He gratefully received a bone marrow donation in 2005 and maintained contact with his donor.His positive outlook gave him strength to defeat his cancer and he kept his positive passion for living life to the fullest to his last day. Chef Gregory was an active member of the Chaine Des Rotisseurs and Airliner Social Club.Mike is a member of the Disciples of Escoffier.It is a world wide organization and membership is by invitation only based on your lifetime commitment to the culinary arts.There are only 30,000 members globally. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the community.Mike had many friends and was loved by everyone he encountered throughout his life.
