It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Michael V. Cook "Coach & Pops" of Garland, Texas at the age of 73. Michael was born on June 30, 1947 to Roy L. Cook and Dorothy F. Ray Cook. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 26 years, Janis Conn, his sons, Mitch Cook and wife Amy Cook, Monty Cook and wife Laura Nosek, stepson, David Page and wife Sunshine Page, grandchildren, Ty, Jacie, Jenna, Natalie, Olivia, step grandchildren, Jacob, Dominick, Tristan, Destiny, step great grandchild Paisley Lynn, his beloved dog "Bear" , and many family and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Roy L Cook and Mother, Dorothy F Ray Cook. Michael played on the back-to-back Garland Owls Texas State Champion football teams in 1964-1965. "Coach" also managed many North Garland Little League baseball and Garland Pee Wee Football teams, serving for many years on both league boards. He was a drummer in local rock bands, including the Continental Five. He could light up a room with his personality and sense of humor. He impacted the lives of many in his community, and he will be missed.
