Melba June (Flowers) Whaley, 77 of Mesquite, TX was born May 5, 1944 in Dallas , Texas to Homer Jason and Ara May Flowers, and passed away on May 19, 2021.

Melba married John H. Whaley, Jr. on February 29, 1964. June worked in the marketing department of Trinity Universal Insurance for over 25 years. She was an artist and enjoyed oil painting and card making. She was member of First Baptist Church of Garland where she enjoyed teaching cardmaking to other members of GRACE. June enjoyed spending time with her family, and was known as "Nana' to her grandchildren.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John H. Whaley, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Jenae Johnson and son-in-law, Brad Johnson, granddaughter Sara Johnson and grandson Ryan Johnson; sister Linda and husband Doug Brogdon, sister Elaine and husband Billy Phillips, brother Eddie and wife Karen Flowers, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will at 10:00 AM Monday, June 21, 2021 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Highway 80, Sunnyvale, TX. Inurnment will be at 2:15 PM Monday, June 21, 2021 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
