Melba Marie Phillips nee Pruett Born September 10, 1926 Died September 29, 2019 Age 93 Born in Maxey, Texas to William and Olga Pruett. Graduated from Paris High School. Married to Merril P. Phillips on January 17, 1959. Lived in Mesquite, Texas since 1959. Members of First Baptist Church Mesquite. Mother to 6 children.Worked for 30+ years in the Nursery School at First Baptist Church She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Shirley Montelongo. Survived by her husband of 60 years, Merril. Her children and their families: Tammy Penney, Tracy & Chad Felmut, Chris & Finney Shipley, Clint & Sharla Shipley, Darren Shipley Faye Rhodes & Family Betty & Paul Lehr, Kim & Chad Bearden, Keith & Kumi Taylor LaDonna Huggins and Lisa Burgess Pam & John McDaniel, Dustin & Lori Dean, Paige and Justin McElvain, Brooke & Danny Hessling Michael & Deborah Phillips, Emily Phillips and Zane Phillips And many great-grandchildren, extended family and friends Because Melba loved little children so much, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send a donation to St. Judes Childrens Hospital in her memory.
