Imogene Lokey Baker was born on September 12, 1935 in Mansfield, Arkansas to Ira Irene and Cecil Ralph Lokey. She passed away on August 2, 2016 in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her family. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her sister Irma Dean Darnell and her daughter Cecilia Ann Meler. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Merle Baker, her adopted sister Mabel Ball, her children Brenda and husband Dewayne Elery, Dean Baker and wife Gena Baker, Tracie and husband Michael Clay and Amy and husband Tony Collins. Her grandchildren Mitchell and Emily Elery, Kellie and Curtis Woods, Amanda and Nate Smith, Tripp and Ashlee Baker, Toby and Kristi Elery, Blake Meler, Trent Baker, Grant Meler, Lindsey Meler, Kirk Clay, Madison Giblin and Brody Collins. Her great grandchildren Tyler Woods, Cooper Woods and Ames Baker. And a many extended family She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved everyone she met and was loved by all. She worked tirelessly at raising her 5 children and maintaining an immaculate house all while working a full time job. She loved to entertain and everyone she knew was welcome in her home. She loved to travel and she and Merle had many memorable trips around the world with her friends and family. She worked in a donut shop where she and Merle met, then Dallas Linen, an insurance company, G&M Negatives and was a co-owner with her sister in law Melba of B&W Printing. Merle and Imogene started Dallas Crystal Clear Sound, Inc/CCS Printing in 1979 along with the Pressing Plant, where she worked until she retired in 2009. In her retirement she enjoyed creating beautiful flower arrangments for her home, friends and family. The viewing will be held Friday August 5th, 2016 from 5 - 7 pm at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 US 80 Frontage Rd. Sunnyvale, Texas 75182 The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturaday August 6th, 2016 at 10 am at King of Glory Assembly of God(formerly Urban Park Assembly of God) 3700 N. Jim Miller Rd. Dallas, Tx 75227 Internment will follow at Forney Hilcrest Cemetery, Forney, TX.
