Matthew Ross Defilippo

Matthew Ross DeFilippo, 15 died Saturday, June 2, 2012. He was born April 16, 1997 in Atlanta Georgia to Stephen and Tina DeFilippo. He attended Forney High School. He attended Fellowship Baptist Church and was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. He enjoyed making people smile and supporting his friends in all their activities. Matthew is survived by his mother Tina DeFilippo, father Stephen DeFilippo and brothers Mitch and Seth. He also leaves Jim and Tyler Hubbard; his maternal grandmother Peggy Mitchell of Logansport Louisiana; also his paternal grandmother Evelyn DeFilippo from Winterhaven Florida; Godmother and Aunt Toni Goodin and husband Bill from Shreveport, Louisiana; Godfather and Uncle Mark DeFilippo and wife Brooke from Harrisburg Pennsylvania; Aunt Joani Johnson and husband Delwin from Joaquin Texas; Uncle Chris Mitchell and Kathy from Many Louisiana; Uncle Marino DeFilippo, Jr and wife Karen from California; Uncle John DeFilippo from Harrisburg Pennsylvania; Great Aunt Linda Robbins of Shreveport; Great Uncle Wyndell and wife Rodean Barnett, and maternal grandfather Larry Mitchell of Shreveport. His is also survived by cousins Stefanie, Mick, Tanor and Morgan Doggett, Brooke, Adam, Calyn and Covee Cox, Luke, Drew, Nicholas, Michael, Jessica and Maria DeFilippo and host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Mariano Rocco DeFilippo, Sr. Funeral arrangements are being handled by New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale TX. Visitation will be at Fellowship Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 5 from 5-7 PM. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 10 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to a scholarship fund set up in memory of Matthew.
