Mary Bess Shipley

Mary Bess Shipley went to her Heavenly Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born on June 30, 1939, the youngest of nine children in Crandall, Texas. She lived in the Crandall and Forney area her entire life. Mary devoted her life to raising her children, caring for her parents and mother-in-law. She treasured the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Granny". Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, George Austin "Buddy" Shipley, their son Richard and his wife Deanna Shipley, daughter Tammy and her husband Robert Manquero, her granddaughter D’Anna and her husband Steven Graham, her grandson Michael Creecy and his wife Morgan. She was blessed with her great-grandchildren Henry, Adalyn, June, and Luke Austin. She is also survived by her sister Gay Hurley along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Mary is preceded in death by her parents John Roy and Adron Pritchett along with her brothers Sam, John, James, J.R., Tom B. and Frank Pritchett as well as her sister Almarita Carpenter. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was having the company of family. She was looking forward to the birth of her fifth great-grandchild in February, 2017.
