Mary Esther Martin

Mary Stillwagon Martin of Mesquite TX passed away on February 10, 2015. Parents Ralph D. Stillwagon and Esther Stillwagon of Homosassa FL, formerly of the Connellsville PA area. Survived by daughter Michelle Knight (Charlie) of Mesquite TX son Dwayne Martin (Renee) of Palm Harbor FL. mother Esther Stillwagon of Belle Isle FL, brothers Donald Stillwagon (Rosie) of Murphy NC and Robert Stillwagon (Hallie) of Spartanburg SC, and sister Barbara Moffett of Belle Isle FL. Also survived by GrandchildrenErin Knight, Savannah Knight, Brittany Mays, Jessica Baugh ,Grace Knight, Logan Cathey, Kieran Martin, Ariana Martin, and Moira Martin. Mary was born in the Connellsville PA area and grew up in the Homosassa FL area before moving to Palm Harbor and later to the Mesquite TX area. Mary was caretaker who took excellent care of many different people including her father for several years and her mother for 5 years. Mary's worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years, which she could do at home while engaged in caretaking. After a severe stoke in 2011 in FL, Mary moved back to her daughter Michelle and son-in-law Charlie's home in Mesquite TX. She had lost the use of most of her right side but due to her positive attitude and perseverance she learned to compensate and regained much of her mobility.She was known to leave her wheelchair at the bottom of the stairs and crawl up the carpeted stairs to check on grandchildren! A memorial service will be held for Mary at 3:00 P.M. Saturday February 14th, 2015 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church 4406 Broadway Boulevard, Garland, TX. 75043. Memorials may be made to either Eastern Hills Baptist Baptist Church or The National Stroke Foundation.
