HUTCHINSON, Mary Carol, 73, of Richardson, TX, passed away on November 22, 2019. A Sixth generation Texan, she was a descendant of the Lawrence and Motley families of Mesquite. She graduated from Mesquite High School and East Texas State University, earning her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education. Post graduation, she taught Home Economics in Socorro ISD, and then went on to work as an Extension Agent for Texas A&M in El Paso, TX. While in El Paso she met and married Albert Hutchinson, later moving to Richardson, TX where she continued to teach Home Economics in Mesquite. She had the opportunity to travel with her family to exciting locations such as China, Egypt and Tahiti, as well as Europe. An avid historian and genealogist, she was a member of both the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She had a great faith in her savior, Jesus Christ and as a life-long Baptist was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church for almost 20 years. She was a proud mother, loving wife, great friend and an amazing cook. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Albert Hutchinson, her daughter Mary Anne Thornton and husband, Chris. She is also survived by two step-grandsons, her Aunt Anne Bessire of Waco, cousins Patricia McCormick of Sunnyvale, Ann McCormick of Sunnyvale, Larry Henard and wife, Nancy of Wellington, TX, Joe Henard and wife, Kay of Amarillo, TX, Andy Henard and wife, Deltah of Wellington, TX. Proceeded in death by father L.D. Carrington, IV, mother Wilma Lawrence Carrington, Aunts Mary Lawrence, Nannie Lawrence Henard and Uncle Russell Carrington and her cousin, Dan Henard. Services for Mrs. Hutchinson will be November 30 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel in New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale. Private burial will follow at her family cemetery.
