Mary Gibson

Mary Jean Pyland Gibson, age 83, passed away on May 22, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1941 in Avinger, Texas to parents W.D. and Jo Fern Pyland.

Mary married Kenneth Patrick Gibson on May 30, 1959. She passed away just shy of the couple celebrating sixty five years of marriage together. Mary and Kenneth made Mesquite, Texas their home in 1963 where she spent a long life there as a homemaker, surrounded by loving family, friends, and neighbors. Mary was an active member of the Town East Baptist Church in Mesquite throughout her life.

Mary is survived by her husband, Kenneth Patrick Gibson; daughters, Tricia Lynn Spencer and Joan Gibson Long; grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Pyle, Caleigh Griffin, Julian Long, Deryl Long, and Coen Long; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Gary Pyland.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, W.D. Pyland and Jo Fern Pyland; her brother, Joe Pyland; and several of her closest friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
