Marvin George Smith,

SMITH, JR., Marvin George of Dallas, born November 18, 1935, passed away August 2, 2010. Marvin served his country by serving four years in the Air Force, and then served his city by working with the Dallas Fire Department. He had moved up the ladder to the rank of Lieutenant when he retired from the department after 31 years. Preceded in death by parents, Naomi & S. P. Middleton. Survived by wife of 47 glorious years, Carolyn M. Smith; children, Troy W. Smith & wife, Lynell, Tracy L. Smith & wife, Bobbi, Teresa M. Scott & significant other, Larry H. Vess; grandchildren, Troy W. Smith, Jr. & wife, Renee, Heather N. Smith & Charles J. Hutcherson, Travis W. Smith, Tiffani M. Chamberlain, Toby M. Scott, Jared T. Smith, Larry H. Vess II; great grandson, Trystan W. Hutcherson; extended family, Randy Smith, Sr. & wife, Tammy, Randy Smith, Jr., brothers, Ralph H. Smith and Billy J. Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. Service will be 1:30PM Wednesday August 4, 2010 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00PM " 8:00PM.
