Marvin E. Hudler went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Marvin was born to William Henry and Cora Bell Hudler on April 22, 1925. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Marvin Hudler graduated from Forest Avenue High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Army. After his discharge, he went to work for Austin Brothers Steel Company. While working there he surrendered to the call to preach. While pastoring his first two half time churches, he met the love of his life, Dwight Marie Kelley. As soon as the church could hire him as the full time pastor, they were married.
During his ministry Marvin was given the opportunity to preach revivals in several states as well as two foreign countries. He loved the Lord and was passionate about sharing the gospel. He was in full time ministry until his failing eyesight caused him to retire.
Marvin loved watching football and boxing. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and softball . He was still pitching for softball games well into his sixties. He enjoyed working in his yard with his buddy Badger. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with each one. He was Dad, Grandpa, Pepaw, Pawpaw, Bro. Marvin and Preacher, but most of all he was loved.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Dwight Marie Hudler, son Dwight Hudler and wife Lucy, daughter Rebecca (Becky) Butters; grandchildren Dwight Hudler and wife Bridgette, Chris Hudler and wife Sara, Nathan Hudler and wife Angela, Andrew Hudler and wife Shelly, Brandi Ingle and husband Daniel, Charity Hudler with Sebastian Hinkle, Joshua Butters with Maureen Nicholas, Courtney Pate and husband Dustin and Blaine Hudler and wife Nikki as well as 25 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sons Victor Hudler and James Hudler and grandson James Hudler II (Lil James) as well as his four brothers and 3 sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and great grandson
Dwight Hudler, Chris Hudler, Nathan Hudler, Andrew Hudler, Blaine Hudler and Kaden Walters.
