Their union of 66 years was rewarded with four children, four grandsons, and two great granddaughters. Babe possessed a true servant’s heart and faithfully cared for her family through her gifts of cooking, sewing, gardening, homemaking, and an unselfish willingness to help others in any way. Throughout her life, Babe was a loving and devoted Christian living out her faith as an example to others through a sweet and nurturing spirit. She was the heart of the Shewmake family and lived a tireless Christian example. As a long time devoted member of Fireside Drive Baptist Church in Dallas, she also worked tirelessly on making her church a home to all its members through the upkeep and decorations of the church that she loved. On Monday, June 22, 2015, Babe, surrounded by family, slipped into eternal rest and went home to be with God where she joins her mother, father and sister, Opal, who preceded her in death.
