Marion "Skip" Hunter, passed on Wednesday, January 16, while resting at home with family in Dallas, TX. As such, a man of great determination and ingenuity completed a life well lived. Triumphing over many hardships, Skip met every challenge with a persevering creativity and jovial sense of humor. While his life's tales could fill volumes, the 66 years he spent married to his wife, Artie, is a true love story for the ages. He was born to Winnie Angelina McKenna Hunter who preceded him in death, along with 2 sisters, Frances and Winnie and 3 brothers, Tony, Jimmy and Ernie. An enlisted man, Skip served as a tail gunner in the Army Air core and hosted poker games in the officer's mess. Skip's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Artie Hunter, his two beloved children, son Wayne Hunter, of Dallas, TX and daughter Marian Mabry, of Houston, TX, son-in-law James Mabry, grandchildren Allyson, Lauren, IV, and Marian Rose, lifelong friend Gary McCullough and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him deeply. From celebrities to scoundrels, Skip never met a stranger. As many mourn Skip's death, the celebration of his life will continue in the memories of all who know him.
