THOMAS, Marilyn Jeanne, 70, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home on 2/23/2009. She was born 4/28/1938 to Wayne & Mildred Hewins in Denver, Co. She married Larry Leon Thomas in 1957. They traveled to many places with the Air Force and lived in California, Florida, MS., SC., AK., TX., Germany, CO., ND., England, and LA. They retired and moved to Mesquite, TX. to enjoy the grandchildren they loved so much. In her late 30s she fulfilled her life long dream of becoming a nurse and practiced her profession for over 20 years. She was also an artist who was accepted to Walt Disney to work on Art and Animation, (but she became a wife and mother instead.). She was a Girl Scout Leader, Little League Team Mom, decorated her house beautifully and was a wonderful mom. She was a strong woman who loved her family, liked to shop til she dropped and knew how to pass a good time , especially at Mardi Gras. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Larry; her parents, Wayne & Mildred Hewins; brother, Mike. She is survived by daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Richard Coward of Mesquite, TX; son, David Thomas of Lafayette, LA., daughter & son-in-law, Laura & Lee Estes of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Ricky, Stephen, Meagan & Alexis Coward; sister & brother-in-law, Pat & Jim Kroll of Monument, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice. A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday 2/28/2009 at New Hope Funeral Home.
