What you need to know about Marie I will try to tell you now It should be easy to make you see I'm just not so sure how I could tell you about her favorite things Or her favorite things she liked to do Like playing Bingo all night long Or going shopping like she used to She always said what was on her mind And her feelings were never hidden And if she didn't like you much She would tell you in an instant She loved carnations of every color And she loved her candy too She loved to wear her diamonds and furs But then again, wouldn't you? Her eyes were blue a pretty shade That sparkled in the light The same color blue that she loved to wear When she went out for the night I know that she is up in heaven now Her job here has been done I am sure she found the biggest cloud To dance the jitterbug on! I love you Grandma! Love, Lori
