Maria Del Rosario De Los Santos, from Sunnyvale, Texas, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Maker on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born January 29, 1942 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. After the death of her mother at age 13 she relocated to Mission, Texas to reside with her aunt. At the age of 17, she met the love of her life Leonel, and were wed 2 years later in McAllen, Texas and started a family. After moving to different cities, they made McAllen their home for 14 years before relocating to the Dallas area in 1985. In 2001, they ultimately settled in Sunnyvale, Texas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Leonel De Los Santos. She will be dearly remembered by her children: Son, Jose Luis De Los Santos, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Minerva De Los Santos, & her grandchildren Isaak, David & Jose Luis, Jr. of Sunnyvale, Texas; Daughter, Norma Amar and son-in-law, Mike Amar & her grandchildren, Miguel “Mikey”, Alexander & Matthew, of Sunnyvale, Texas; Daughter, Nora Sifuentes and son-in-law, Tony Sifuentes & her grandchildren, Cristina, Thomas, Trey & Cameron, of Forney, Texas; Daughter, Laura Montez and son-in-law, Paul Montez & her grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan & Lauren, of Mesquite, Texas; and Daughter, Angelica Garcia and son-in-law, Luis Garcia & her grandchildren Jacob (Bianca), Gabriel & Alyssa, of Garland & Corpus Christi, Texas.
Our beloved mother and grandmother was cherished by many; her life was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She had a servant’s heart and took joy serving on the hospitality committee in her church and lovingly opened her home for bible studies and fellowship. She treated everyone as family. She had a passion and talent for authentic cooking and used her gift to bring family and friends together around the table. She enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found tending her garden and animals alongside her husband. Mom, a woman of prayer, leaves a legacy of love, family and faith.
On behalf of the De Los Santos Family, our deepest, heartfelt gratitude is extended to our beloved family and friends. Thank you for graciously upholding us in prayer during this difficult time. We love you all and may the Lord bless you and keep you.
