Marge Huddleston was born Margie Pauline Childers on August 31, 1926, in Kingsland, Arkansas, the oldest of ten children born to Claude and Mary Ann Childers. In 1945 Marge met and married Winfred Huddleston, after he returned from service as a pilot in World War II. Marge loved going to work as a bookkeeper. In 1961 the Huddlestons adopted their first daughter, Jill, and 6 months later Beth would be born, followed by Russell three years later. In 1970, the family relocated from Little Rock to Mesquite, Texas. After enjoying being a stay-at-home mother, Marge would return to work as a bookkeeper. In the late 1990’s the first of her grandchildren was born, and in 1992, she lost her husband Winfred to lung cancer. Marge lived independently until age 85, especially enjoying trips to Bossier City with family and friends. She was a matriarch to her family and a fixture at gatherings all over Texas and Arkansas until worsening dementia took away her ability to travel. Marge passed away peacefully in Mesquite, TX, on April 2, 2020. She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by many.
