Margarett E Gurno was born in Granbury Texas on May 18th, 1939, and passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2015. From a very young age, she began reading and studying the bible. She enjoyed reading it so much that as a young adult, knowing it from beginning to end, she taught Sunday school for both children and adults alike. She owned and operated M. E. G. Income Tax and Bookkeeping Service for over 30 years. Although she enjoyed the actual business aspect of the tax profession, what was most rewarding to her about her business was the acquaintances and friendships she made with her customers over the years. She looked forward every tax season to seeing and catching up with her customers, just like you would with a long lost friend. As her leisure time increased, she had more time to concentrate on her many hobbies, one of which was her love of painting. Throughout her house hung many of her portraits, which ranged from beautiful scenes of mother nature, to snapshots of life, captured on canvas, from a simpler place and time. She enjoyed the outdoors as well. She loved to fish from her pond, often leading to friendly competitions with family members on who could snag the biggest catch. She taught her grandchildren to fish, both of who carry on her love of angling still today. But what she cherished and loved more than anything was her family. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for the holiday season because family was everything to her, whether you saw her once a week or once a year, she always welcomed you with open arms and a loving smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and aunt. You will be truly missed here on Earth, but you will always be in our hearts forever. There is no doubt that she has her set of wings now. Margarett was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Cecil Gurno; son, Gary Gurno; daughter, Rose Gurno; brother, L E Miller; sisters, Katherine Solomon, Lue Rossow; and Brother- in – law, Leon Rossow.
