Margaret McKee-Woodward

Margaret Lee McKee-Woodward was born in Batesville, Mississippi on November 8, 1923.She passed away in the presence of her family in Rockwall, Texas on October 14, 2019.She was 95 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick Woodward, whom she met late in life and brought her much joy, her sister Claire Street, and her parents Woodruff Hentz and Uvie Land.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Gena McKee, of Rockwall, Texas; three grandchildren, Macey of Richardson, Texas, Spencer of Austin, Texas, and Annie, of College Station, Texas; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ruth Johnson, of Crandall, Texas. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family.She loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh.In her younger days she enjoyed dancing and making trips to the casinos.In her more recent days she enjoyed watching old reruns of Andy Griffith and visiting with family and friends. Although Margaret was born and raised in Mississippi, she relocated as a young adult to Dallas, Texas.She eventually settled in Mesquite, Texas where she lived for about forty years, followed by the past two years in Rockwall, Texas at Brookdale Assisted Living Center, where she had many friends.Although she spent the majority of her life in Texas, she always considered Mississippi home and spoke fondly of her family and friends and time there growing up. A visitation will be held Thursday night, October 17, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm, with the family speaking at 7 pm.A private burial will be held Friday morning, October 18, 2019, at DFW National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband Patrick.
