Mom was a most precious treasure in our family. She was a small little lady with a great big heart full of love. She was Daddy's true help mate and they had 65 wonderful years before Daddy went to his heavenly home 4 years ago. They traveled, camped, rode motor bikes, and just had so many good times. They were devoted to each other and Mom has been devoted to her family. Mom was a fantastic seamstress, she made so many things for the family....each one made with so much love. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was involved in many of the activities of her grandchildren as they grew up and also attended many things with her great grandchildren. She taught Sunday School for so many years and was able to see so many of those "children", now in their 40's and 50's, at her 90th birthday party. Mom loved gospel music and would tap her feet and clap her hands at so many gospel singing services. She was also a football fan. Thanksgiving Holidays at our house always included our thankfulness for family and a livingSaviour. Mom and the guys would be watching football games while the rest of us were avoiding watching football games. Mom was an avid fan of whatever college her grandchildren and great grandchildren attended. Her neighbors told us if they visited with her on a Saturday she would say the Aggies, the Longhorns or the Sooners were about to play and she had to watch. Our friends loved Mom and visited with her so often and she loved them so much. She has truly lived a blessed life and has lived it to the fullest. She will forever be in our hearts and we will miss her. Our hearts are full of joy just knowing that she is resting in the arms of Jesus. Service will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182. There will be a reception following at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sunnyvale First Baptist Benevolence Fund in her memory at 3018 N. Belt Line Road, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182. The family would like to thank Dr. L. Todd Edwards for taking care of Mom for many years and also would like to thank Christian CareNurses and Acapella Nurses and her aids for their compassion and care of Mom.
