Macie Ann Leatherwood Lacy went to her final resting place on August 5th, 2012.Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, whose lives she touched over the years.Macie was born July 15, 1933 in Dallas, Texas to Jace and Edna Leatherwood.In 1955, she married her husband, Chester Langston Lacy,and shared52 ½ years full of memories.She lived her life for her family, including her two children, Becky Fortner and Robert Lacy.Macie is well known to all as Nanny , the woman who helped anyone who was in need; truly she had the most giving heart.The truth is she loved everyone in her life, it did not matter if you were family, you always knew Nanny was there to take care of you.If there was one thing she did best, it was spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she never said no and always had a present for her grandbabies.Her giving heart was expressed through her support of The Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and Angelman Syndrome Foundation charities.The many memories of Nanny that we will all miss are Christmas Eves at her house, always knowing that there would be plenty of desserts, and her shopping sprees. Macie lived a fulfilled, precious life full of great memories. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Langston Lacy; parents, Edna & Jace Leatherwood; sister, Mary Louise Allman She is survived by her sisters, Ruby Haney; her daughter, Becky Fortner & husband, Buck; son, Bob Lacy & wife, Debbie; 3 grandchildren; Brad Fortner & wife, Anna, Amanda Jones & husband Wesley and Jace Lacy; 5 great grandchildren, Audrey Jones, Emma Fortner, Garrett Jones, Ashley Fortner, and Madelyn Lyon; and many great nieces and nephews. Service will be 12:00PM Wednesday August 8, 2012 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182 Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
