Mable Lois Brooks

May 20, 1926 — September 20, 2013

Mable Lois (Stanfield) Brooks went home to be with her Savior on September 20, 2013.She was born on May 20, 1926 in Henderson, Texas. She was a beautiful light in this world and blessed all who knew her.Despite the moments of sadness she endured in her life, she kept her eyes on the Lord, leaning on Him for her strength which also gave her joy.She was a woman committed to the love of her life, Roy, for 69 years. She was asked once what goal she set and reached, to which she replied, “My vow to love my husband with all my heart ‘til death do us part”.She was committed to being a mother, which transcended into being a wonderful Granny. She said many times that there was nothing sweeter than holding and rocking her babies. She was a dedicated member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church where she taught Bible Study for many years and developed friendships that she cherished always. Her life was a ministry teaching the Holy Word that she devoured.During her lifetime she enjoyed running, aerobics, crafts, making goodies at the holidays, reading, gardening and she enjoyed dancing. The last photo of Lois dancing was of her and Roy at their grandson’s wedding 4 ½ years ago, she is dancing now streets of gold and celebrating her reunion with those that preceded her in death:her parents, Reagan Stanfield and Euna Bell Pool Roberson; her step-father, Bob Roberson; her sister Louise. Her sons, Roy Glenn, Joe Dennis and Jimmy Scott (all of whom she is holding again).Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Roy; her daughter Debra Jan Shew and her “son” Rickey Shew; her grandchildren Tracy Shew Ruppert and Jim Ruppert; Rick and Marti Shew; her great-grandchildren Hunter, Holden, Heath Ruppert and Hadley Rose Shew. Several years ago, Lois was given a “Grandmother’s Memories to her Grandchild” journal that she filled out for us to cherish. One of the questions is THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN:“for my loved ones to fall in love with Jesus. If they are, I know we will all be together for all eternity and walk on streets of gold – where there will be no night because of the brilliance of Jesus. No more tears!!!! Praise God!”
