Lucile Carter of Forney, Texas died at age 92 on July 3, 2015 in Forney, Texas. She was born on January 20, 1923 in Bell County, Texas near Nolanville to parents William Acie and Fairer Adams.Lucile was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Robert, her parents Acie and Fairer Adams, brothers Thomas Adams, William Adams, Grady Adams, Elmer Adams and EJ Adams.Also preceded in death by her sisters Velma Baggett, Iva Blanton and Beatrice Dunton. She is survived by her children, daughter Judy Carter of Wills Point, son Roger Carter of Forney and son & daughter-in-law Eric & Stacey Carter of Forney.Also surviving Lucile are 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Lucile lived in Bell County during her years growing up, attended Nolanville schools and was a member the Nolanville High School basketball team.After high school Lucile and her sisters worked at Camp Hood during WWII, better known now as Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.There she met Robert Carter and they married on December 16, 1946.Together they raised 3 children, Judy, Roger and Eric.For several years their home was moved to various cities in north and west Texas, wherever the work took them.In 1956 they made their home in Mesquite, Texas until 1975 when they moved to Forney, Texas. She loved life and all there in it.First of all she loved the Lord, she was a good and faithful servant always living a Christian life.She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Forney, Texas.Lucile as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife of a preacher always putting the Lord first in her life.She loved her family immensely, loved to travel and always was ready to go to a family reunion.Having family together for holidays or just a weekend get together was something she always looked forward to hosting. Family was very important to Lucile, whether it was her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren.She was always cooking your favorite meal for your birthday, or keeping the grandchildren over the weekend or during the summer months.In the last few years a sure way to lift her spirits was for her to see her great grandchildren. Lucile was multi-talented in the art of cooking, housekeeping and painting.Her skills at cooking was recognized by all who ate her homemade biscuits, donuts, bean burgers or Italian Crme cake.Her home was always clean and neat, but never enough for when company was coming.And later in life, she took up painting landscape and still life and was quite good at this skill. While there are countless good memories, she will be missed tremendously by all that knew her.Her smile and laughter are irreplaceable.Lucile’s favorite flower is the red rose, the most beautiful flower in the world.How apropos that she was the most beautiful person to her family and friends. The services are under the direction of New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas.Officiating the services will be Pastor Marvin Hale with music provided by Cathy Hale.Pallbearers will be Sammy Bland, Doyle Adams, Harley Adams, Ron Carter, Orville Adams, and Buster Adams.
