Lowery Butler Howell, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather was born August 27, 1926 in Laurel Mississippi, the middle of seven children of Lewis David and Dovie Ritchie Howell. He served in the Navy in World War II and went on to college at Mississippi College and graduating from Southern Mississippi. He and Nan Middlebrook married on April 18, 1950 to begin their 61 years together and they moved to Houston, Texas where he began work with CT Corporation and they began raising their family. He rose to become Regional Vice President and retired in 1983 to enjoy their love of friends, family and golf. Throughout his life, Lowery was dedicated to the Lord and served as deacon at Willow Meadows Baptist in Houston and First Baptist in Dallas. In life, the Lord bestowed many blessings on him, including the friends he made through his time here on earth. He is survived by his wife, Nan Howell, their children, Patricia Howell Shelley and her husband Randy and Barry Howell and his wife Tonna. He also left behind his grandchildren, Shane Shelley, Amber Shelley, Brandi Odle, Scott Howell and Rebecca Howell and his great grandchildren, Allison and Rachel Odle. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at DFW National Cemetery.
