Lori Lea Frye (née Hendrix) , died at her home in Forney, Texas on February 18, 2025 after a short but fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on July 26, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to Nelda and Jimmy Hendrix, who preceded her in death in 2016 and 2002, respectively.
Lori is survived by her two sisters, Debra Knowlton and Lisa Kern, her brother-in-law Don Kern, her daughter and son-in-law, Christina and George Wyatt, her grandson Arthur Wyatt, and two nephews, Kyle and Shane Knowlton.
Lori was a force to be reckoned with! She was strong-willed, hard-working, intelligent, and adventurous, and she refused to suffer fools. She always gave everything she had and more to care for others. She raised her daughter on her own from the tender age of 19, working hard and sacrificing so much to make sure Christina had the best life possible. Lori had very close relationships with both of her parents and her sisters. She was particularly close to her mother, Nelda, with whom she lived for many years. Lori and her two sisters, Deb and Lisa, were their mother's caretakers while Nelda fought lung cancer, giving their all right to the end to ensure their mother's comfort.
Lori's sudden illness came as a great shock to her family. Just as they had done with their mother, Lori's sisters dropped everything to come to her aid, caring for her night and day for the last 7 months of her life.
Lori's passing will leave an indelible mark on her family and friends, but they can rest a little easier knowing that she is reunited with her beloved parents, and will never again know pain.
