Loretta Norris, born on February 10, 1941, in Emory, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 83. A beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Loretta's life was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
Loretta dedicated herself to her work in food service at Mesquite High School, where she nourished not just the bodies but also the spirits of countless students. She was an avid quilter and embroiderer, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and love for artistry. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren-Christy, Jennifer, Michelle, Yusuf, Emel, Kenneth, and Yasemin-whom she adored. Together, they created lasting memories that will be treasured forever.
In her free time, Loretta enjoyed fishing with her late husband, a pastime that brought them closer together and allowed them to appreciate the serene beauty of nature. She was also the proud owner of a lively Pomeranian,Bear, who brought her immense joy and companionship. Loretta's warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, son Ken Norris and daughter Janet Brandon; her sister Dixie McDuffie; her grandchildren; and great-grandson Caden Atok. As we celebrate her remarkable life, we invite family and friends to join us in honoring Loretta's memory through shared stories and laughter.
