Lonnie Day

September 22, 1937 — October 10, 2024

Lonnie Talmadge Day, age 87, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. He was born on September 22, 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lonnie was a true self-made man. He was once a foster child who, by the grace of God, was taken in by the Stark family as an early teen and became his permanent and loving family. They welcomed him with the support, love, and kindness that only a family can give. He was immediately considered a son and brother forever and that never changed.

After graduating High School, Lonnie went to work for the General Motors plant. After a few years there he was selected to train in their Management Program. He became one of the youngest regional sales managers for GM at that time.

After leaving GM, he became Sales Manager for several auto dealerships in the Dallas area and eventually became the President of Bankston Nissan (Datsun). After working there several years, he left to open his own Ford Dealership in Waxahachie, Texas.

Lonnie was forever a Dallas Cowboy fan and over the years had become friends with several of their past players.

Lonnie loved to travel and visited many countries throughout his life. He believed in living life to the fullest at all times. He created and shared so many memories with his family and friends and left a Legacy that will never be forgotten.

Lonnie is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Day; parents, Robert and Georgia Stark; son, Cort Morgan; sisters, Gloria Shindler and Gaynell Fox.

He is survived by daughters, Rhonda Box and husband Gary, Janet Hozie and husband William, Susan Swatek and husband Timothy; son, Brad Morgan and wife Debbie; brothers, Roy Stark and wife Cathy, Harold Stark and wife Martha; daughter-in-law, Danijela Morgan; along with 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
